University Mentorship Program
What is it?
Community. A place to belong. Career and life advice. Meals and coffee.
A low-pressure adult mentoring program designed to help you explore your faith, life direction, and church engagement. Mentors are members of Park Place Church of God (just across the street from Reardon Auditorium) from all life stages who want to engage with you and welcome you into their community. This mentoring program is open to graduate and undergraduate students of Anderson University, and may also qualify for internship credit for certain academic programs.
What do I have to do?
As students, be willing to engage with us. Connect with a Sunday or Wednesday service online or in person. Take action to explore your future and your faith. Participate in some sort of service opportunity with your mentor.
As mentors, be willing to engage with your student. Take initiative by reaching out and helping a student explore their future and faith. Participate in some sort of service opportunity with the student.
Students and mentors will commit to the school year with the option to discontinue at the end of the fall semester with mutual agreement. Next matches start August 2021.
How do we get together?
After students are matched with their mentor or group, you will mutually decide when and how to get together. We hope students will visit regularly on Sunday mornings, hopefully contact mid-week occasionally via text or over coffee, get together once a month or so for a meal, or as often as you find to be helpful and edifying. Throughout the semester you will also have the option of attending workshops, seminars, or guest speakers with your mentor at Park Place.
When does it start?
